Can A Testicle Injury Cause Erectile Dysfunction?

Can A Testicle Injury Cause Erectile Dysfunction?

Every part of me is saying I should tell you to go to the doctor. But I know you don’t have health insurance.

Let me start by asking a few questions about the injury. You said your testicles kind of went back to normal. Is there still pain in either or both testicles? I’m assuming there was a bit of swelling and bruising in the scrotum. Is there any anymore? If the answer is yes to either of these questions, I would highly encourage you to talk to a health care provider. Especially if it’s been more than a month.

If those things have gone away, then it’s easy to think that the injury didn’t cause long term issues. But even if there aren’t lingering physical issues that you see, there can be things happening that you’re just not aware of.

Like erectile dysfunction (ED). It is possible for an injury to the testicles to lead to ED. This is often caused by damage to the testicles which can impact hormone production.

So let’s take a look at what’s happening. Are you not getting erections at all? Any erections in the morning when you wake up? Or are you just not getting them as frequently? If you’re not getting them at all, that can be a sign of an issue.

If you had health insurance I would definitely advise you to get it checked out. But for them to figure out if you had ED from being hit in the testicles, there’s going to be a lot of tests. A lot of them. And if it’s linked to a change in hormone levels from the accident, then that means ever more tests.

If you don’t have lingering pain or swelling, and you feel like you can wait, then that’s what I would suggest doing. If this is a minor injury (although I’m sure it didn’t feel minor) then the problems with erections that you’re experiencing often go away over time.

Before I close out, one more question. How’s your sex drive? If you’ve noticed that it’s dropped dramatically, that might be a sign of a hormone issue.

If your sex drive is fine, but you’re not getting an erection, you may want to focus on other types of sex play that don’t involve penetration for a while. This can help you enjoy yourself, and take the focus off the issues with erections that you’re having.

But in a few months, if your erections don’t come back, I would suggest seeing a health care provider.

Until next time, be safe and have fun!
